Creating and installing TAB gradient animations
Build moving color frames, export a TAB animation and connect it to a supported header, footer or other TAB text field.

A gradient needs frames to move
A colored string describes one appearance. An animation needs a sequence of appearances and an interval for displaying them. Pasting a static MiniMessage gradient into a configuration field does not make it move on its own.
The NobleMC RGB generator creates a moving, mirrored gradient loop from your text and palette. It can export the complete sequence as TAB YAML or as a generic JSON frame list. The browser preview and the exported frames use the same color calculation.
Build the text and motion
Enter a short line, choose a palette and select TAB as the destination. Start with readable colors and a simple style. Use the TAB preview mode for an approximate layout; it is a simulation, so test the result in Minecraft before using it throughout your server.
Enable animation frames and choose Move left, Move right or Ping-pong. The interval is the delay between frames in milliseconds. The frame count controls how many samples make up the loop. For example, 24 frames at a 100-millisecond interval take 2.4 seconds for a complete cycle.
Press Play to inspect the movement, or pause and use the frame slider. The normal output box shows the selected frame. The animation download contains the entire sequence, even when the preview is paused.
Export a named TAB animation
Give the animation a recognizable name, such as noble_gradient, and export TAB YAML. Add its block to the animations.yml file in your TAB configuration, preserving indentation and avoiding a duplicate animation name. Keep a copy of the existing file before editing it.
This small two-frame example shows the structure; the generator produces the full gradient frames for you:
noble_gradient:
change-interval: 100
texts:
- "&#F8DF95NobleMC"
- "&#D8932FNobleMC"Place %animation:noble_gradient% in the supported TAB text field where you want it displayed. Save the configuration and reload TAB using its documented procedure. The animation name in the placeholder must match the YAML key exactly. Follow TAB’s animation documentation for configuration-specific details.
Check the result in Minecraft
If nothing animates, first check the animation name, the placeholder spelling and whether the field accepts TAB animations. If codes appear literally, verify that the receiving field is being parsed by TAB and that the client supports RGB colors. TAB’s Minecraft component documentation describes its color syntax and compatibility.
Keep decoration codes after color codes. A legacy color can reset decorations, so adding a single bold code only at the beginning is not equivalent to the generated per-character output. Keep the exported quoting, especially when the text contains quotation marks or line breaks.
Reuse the design
Export the preset JSON to keep the text, palette and animation settings together. The generic frame JSON also includes the selected output format, frame interval and frame list. Another plugin needs its own supported mechanism to play those frames; the JSON file is not a universal plugin configuration.
